The COVID-19 pandemic has forced over 30 million people in the United States to file for unemployment benefits, while countless others have seen their pay reduced and are struggling to make ends meet.
To help curb the economic fallout from social distancing measures, Flatten the Curve will serve as a "gig-fundraising" platform that will enable financially distressed individuals to earn commission for each donation they drive.
Similar to how the Ubers of the world employ drivers for their ridesharing service, Flatten the Curve will leverage a gig economy business model as our primary fundraising source.
Gig-fundraisers will work at will and be paid a commission for each donation they drive. No interviews, bosses, hours, or managers to report into. Just fair compensation for hard work and results.
Our goal with this program is to limit the number of people forced to file for unemployment or exhaust savings accounts because of the economic situation.
We believe the gig-economy business model is the best way to maximize the number of people we can help and how quickly we can help them.
Anyone! We recognize that there is a wide range of people who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and how so. People facing reduced working hours, nonessential business closure, unemployment, and so on can all benefit, but we do not believe placing limits on who's eligible to fundraise would best serve our core mission.
After signing up, Flatten the Curve will assign you a unique Fundraiser ID to share with anyone who donates via our website.
Fundraiser attribution on larger donations or those processed through channels other than our website will be handled by our team as the need arrises.
Strategic partnerships for us are strategic partnerships for you! Reach out to anyone you think would be interested in helping our cause. Enterprises with financial leeway to make a single large donation or are willing to make several recurring donations will give us more flexibility to provide accommodation.
Commissions are 10% of net proceeds per donation. To remain complaint with IRS regulations, we must limit the maximum fundraiser payout for a single donation to $25,000.
We also require a $10 monthly service fee to handle payroll. 100% of this fee goes towards the accounting software we use, which charges on a per person basis. You can cancel at anytime.
Click the link below and fill out the required fields. Once your Fundraiser ID has been assigned, you are free to begin fundraising!
